SoFlaJo For the Halibut Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Good afternoon, dear readers, and happy hump day! I have a gorgeous polish from SoFlaJo's new Wet Dreams Collection to share with you today, and oh man, is this polish stunning! For the Halibut is a dark olive green and gold polish with blue shimmer. It's not a colour that I would typically associate with summer, but I love it! I used two coats of For the Halibut and a coat of HK Girl top coat for these photos.
How pretty is this?!? I actually had close to full coverage with the first coat, so if you use a thicker coat, one will suffice. The application on this one was odd, and I will describe it as best as I can. While stroking the brush down my nail, the polish on either side of the brush kind of clumped together and seemed a little powdery. These little pools of polish did smooth out easily enough when I pulled from them with the brush to finish covering my nails, but it did seem to dry almost too quickly. I have experienced this phenomena before with other brands and only during the summer months, so it is most likely the 110 degree, dry-as-a-bone weather making the polish act odd for me. I'll have to test it out again when it cools down to be sure. Either way, it wasn't a problem for me as long as I worked quickly. Since there are no glitters in this polish that requires extra effort for placement, it can easily be applied quickly. This polish is sexy and sophisticated, and I can definitely see myself wearing this one a lot!
