Born Pretty Store: Carambola (Starfruit) Water decals

Press Sample

TGIF, dear readers! This week has flown by so quickly! I've been in Super Mom mode trying to get everything ready for the holidays at home in addition to working on things for the blog. I've made a lot of progress in my craft projects after deciding to table a few of them due to lack of time, and I'm feeling great! There is something so rewarding about taking my pen and crossing items off my to do list! Now on to today's post!

I had received a few different water decal sheets from Born Pretty Store to review, and today's post features one of them.
This sheet has images in bananas and carambolas. While bananas are more common in my diet, I just love the colour and shape of the starfruit, so I opted to use the bottom portion of this water decal sheet for my nail art look. Let's check it out!
These water decals make me ridiculously happy. I first started out with Rica Whiteout (which is an AMAZING white polish, so if you need one, I strongly recommend it) on my nails that would contain the decals and Alter Ego Nail Enamels in Highlight Hope. I then cut the sections of water decals I wanted to use, soaked them in water for about thirty seconds, and floated the images off the heavy paper lining. They placed really easily with tweezers, and I gently dabbed to remove excess water. Now I've been having issues with my topcoats ruining the images, so I waited about 15 minutes before floating top coat over them. The good news is it didn't damage the images right away. The bad news is I didn't take photos right away as it was really late in the evening, and by the time I woke up in the morning, I had horrible shrinkage (hence the large gap between the eponychium and nail art) that damaged the sides of the image. *sigh* I need to suck it up and just use slow drying top coats.
The banana and carambola/starfruit water decal sheet can be purchased from the Born Pretty Store site here. They are currently on sale for $0.99, so you can have super affordable nail art with minimal effort needed!

While you are perusing the Born Pretty Store site, you can save 10% off any full-priced items that catch your attention with discount code QWL91.

What do you think of this manicure? Would you wear bananas or starfruit on your fingers? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
