Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate 109

Press Sample

Happy Friday, dear readers! I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I actually don't have a single thing planned and am looking forward to just going with the flow. My oldest child is currently sick so that definitely makes it harder to plan too far ahead, but I'm hoping he feels better soon so we can do some fun family activities. Now on to today's blog post!

I received this cute stamping plate from Born Pretty Store, and I was definitely eager to test it out! While I was initially tempted to create a mermaid look, I decided to go a different direction for another fun look. Check it out!

The wavy lines with circles was just too cute to pass up and it begged to be placed in the center of my nails. This stamped so easily for me! The design was nicely etched into the plate so I was able to quick place polish and pick up the image from just the first try. After dealing with the occasional plates that sometimes requires five or more attempts to get one image, I can definitely appreciate when a plate makes it easy for me!

I started off the look with Multichrome Madness Facebook group custom Rhapsody in Blue by ellagee. I then used Rica Whiteout to stamp the image onto my nails. I finished off the look by adding a few simple silver round studs in a few of the circles before topping my nails off with top coat.

I really like this design! It's fun and cute and totally my kind of nail art look!

This particular stamping plate can be picked up from the Born Pretty Store website here.

You can save 10% off full-priced items from Born Pretty Store with the discount code QWL91. While you are there, be sure to check out all the store offerings for your nail art needs!

Do you have this plate from Born Pretty Store? Which stamping plates do you love from them? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Lyn B Designs: Throwback and July Polish of the Month

Press Sample

Happy hump day, dear readers! I hope you've been having a great week so far and have something fun planned for the weekend! For today's blog post, I have a throwback shade and the July Polish of the Month being offered by Lyn B Designs starting Friday. Let's check them out!

Egad

Two coats plus top coat

Egad is the throwback shade returning next month. This sky blue linear holographic polish was originally released two years ago as a "dud" polish, and I am so excited to see it return! The colour is dreamy and the formula is perfection! Not too thick or thin, Egad is so creamy and practically applies itself to the nails.

Peart

Three coats plus top coat

Peart is the Lyn B Designs Polish of the Month for July. I really love this colour- the light orange base is reminiscent of a creamsicle, and it is filled with iridescent flakes! This beauty does require a little extra effort for application to the nails. The formula is a little on the thickers side while the colour itself is sheer. The first two coats were patchy and uneven, and while the third coat helped, it still wasn't completely level. Peart may be best worn at four thinner coats than I used or layering it over a similar base shade.

Egad and Peart will be launching on the Lyn B Designs website alongside the new Cool Beans Collection this Friday, June 30th at 7pm EST. In honor of the launch, you can save 50% off your entire order using discount code INDIE through July 7th.

Are you going to be picking up one (or both) of these polishes? Which one is your favorite? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Ellagee: Throne Shippers Collection

Press Sample

Greetings, dear readers! For today's blog post, I have the upcoming Throne Shippers Collection by ellagee to share with you. Laura, the creative genius behind the brand, is a fan of Game of Thrones, and this collection is named for the relationships Laura hopes to see blossom in the upcoming seventh season. This four-piece collection consists of multichromes with iridescent microglitters and coordinating shimmers. They are stunning, and I can't wait to share them with you! So I don't sound like a broken record, let me fill you in on the formula first since my thoughts are the same for all of them. All four of these multichromes have a great formula that isn't too thin or thick, at least for my liking, and they all applied so smoothly to the nails. I used three easy coats plus top coat for all my swatches shown below. Those with shorter nails or those that tend to use thicker coats may find they only need two coats for opacity.

Daenorah

A jaw dropping multichrome with shifts of olive, gold, copper and red plus iridescent microglitter and bright gold sparkle

This polish represents Daenarys Stormborn and Jorah Mormont. We all know he loves her and he's been her fiercest protector. After all he's been through to get back to her will he be able to find a cure for his unfortunate case of Greyscale and stand beside her at the Iron Throne?

Gendrya

A gorgeous multichrome with shifts of silvery sage green, bright green, magenta, and purple plus iridescent microglitter and bright pink sparkle

This polish represents Gendry, unacknowledged son of Robert Baratheon, and Arya Stark. When they were traveling he was her loyal friend and protector and seeing them separated was heartbreaking. Now that some time has gone by and Arya is no longer a child I hope that their reunion will become a story of first love.

Gressandei

A stunning multichrome with shifts of gold, copper, red, and violet plus iridescent microglitter and bright gold sparkle

This polish represents Grey Worm and Missandei of Naath. The are the sweetest couple in the show, their obvious love for each other has a pureness and innocence about it. We've seen a kiss, will they be able to have a life together in spite of the war they're sailing into?

Tarthbane

A drool-worthy multichrome with shifts of teal, navy blue, purple and red-violet plus iridescent microglitter and bright blue sparkle

This polish represents my favorite couple of the series, Brienne of Tarth and Tormund Giantsbane. He was struck with a massive crush on her the moment he saw her, she wasn't so sure about him but I think under that scowl she's sneaking looks at him also. I'd love to see these two loyal warriors get together, they'd be unstoppable as a team.

All four of these polishes are breathtaking; I can't pick a favorite! The additional microglitters and shimmers make these spectacular, and it's so hard to stop staring at my nails all day! Whether you're a Game of Thrones fan or just crazy about multichromes, you're definitely going to want this set in your collection!

The Throne Shippers Collection will be launching on the ellagee website this Saturday, July 1st so you won't have to wait too long to pick these up!

Do you have a favorite shade from this collection? Which one (or more) will you be sporting on your nails for the launch of the 7th season of Game of Thrones? I'd love to hear your top picks!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Lyn B Designs: Cool Beans Collection

Press Sample

Good morning, dear readers, and happy Monday! I hope your weekend was wonderful and the week is off to a great start! My husband left town this weekend and won't be back until later this week, so I'm solo parenting for the time being. I have a lot to get done, so I'm going to just jump right in on today's post.

Lyn B Designs has a new collection of polishes launching this Friday, and I had the pleasure of swatching them for you! Named the Cool Beans Collection, the nine-piece collection consists of vibrantly-hued shimmers and holographic shades to decorate your fingertips this summer. Let's dive in and check them out!

Psychic Beans
Two coats plus top coat

Medium cool toned green base with red to orange to yellow shimmer and golden flecks

Psychic Beans is arguably my favorite polish from this collection. I just love the base shade so much, and the additional shimmers and flecks play so perfectly against it! The formula is a little on the thicker side but it still went on my nails with a fantastically smooth application.

Retail: $10

Extraterrestrial Beans
Three coats plus top coat

Murky lime green cruelly base with lime galaxy holo and shimmer that shifts from green to pink to silver

This celery green shade is a little unusual, but if you like colours that are different, this one may win you over. I was a little unsure of it at first, but it's quite a fun colour! It applied a little unevenly with the first two coats but the third helped even it out for me.

Retail: $10

Celestial Beans
Three coats plus top coat

Deep blue jelly base with blue to purple flecks and micro holo flecks

This polish definitely makes me think of outer space and I love it! The formula was really easy to work with and applied nicely to my nails. Those who paint with thicker coats or have shorter nails may find they only need two coats for opacity.

Retail: $10

Human Beans
Three coats plus top coat

Orangey red jelly base with golden shimmer and flecks

These photos just do not do Human Beans justice- I'm so sorry about this! It's such a great colour for the summer and the formula was perfection!

Retail: $8

Inner Beans
Three coats plus top coat

Medium grey cruelly base with linear holo shimmer and purple to blue shimmer

I tend to prefer vibrant shades and wouldn't normally have a grey be a top shade, but Inner Beans is just so delicate and ethereal that it certainly makes it a contender for favorite shade. With such a beautiful colour and a formula that applies like a dream, it is sure to win a lot of hearts!

Retail: $10

Sentient Beans
Two coats plus top coat

Warm toned purple with holo flakes, holo shimmer, and red to gold shimmer

I'm not a huge purple fan, but when I wear purple, I definitely prefer them to be warmer toned like Sentient Beans. This polish will make you feel like royalty and the formula is top notch.

Retail: $10

Divine Beans
Two coats plus top coat

Deep purple base with holo shimmer and shifting shimmer that changes from green to blue to pinky purple

Divine Beans is a great option for those that prefer much more blue based purples. While I tend to like warmer purples, I actually really like this one- it makes your nails glow! I have no issues to report regarding the application of this beauty.

Retail: $10

Supreme Beans
Two coats plus top coat

Medium pink crelly base with holo micro flakes and shifting shimmer that changes from green to gold to pink

Long gone are my pink-hating days, and I am so glad about that! The colour of Supreme Beans is gorgeous, and it is another favorite of mine from this collection. The formula is a little on the thicker side, but in spite of that, it still applied easily for me.

Retail: $10

Living Beans
Three coats plus top coat

Taupe cruelly base with holo shimmer and shifting shimmer from orange to yellow to red

If you prefer your nails more subdued, Living Beans is for you! It has a great natural look but is far from boring! The formula is fabulous, but it is a little more sheer than the rest of the collection. I had no trouble reaching opacity with three coats, but I doubt it would be a two coater for anyone. Living Beans is another one of my favorites from this collection.

Retail: $10

The Cool Beans Collection will be launching on the Lyn B Designs website June 30th at 7pm EST. While they are already very affordable, Lyn B Designs is offering a 50% discount off your entire order through July 7th with code INDIE. It's a great way to pick up a bunch of pretty polishes as well as supporting an indie polish maker! My personal favorites from the collection are Psychic Beans, Inner Beans, Supreme Beans, and Living Beans, but all these polishes offer something specular for your nails!

Are there any shades in particular catching your attention? I'd love to hear about your top picks!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
